On May 26, 2026, Sun Square delivered a presentation on ISA/IEC 62443 and the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) at the General Meeting of the Japanese Profibus Organization, the Japanese branch of PI (PROFIBUS & PROFINET International), which promotes PROFIBUS, PROFINET, and IO-Link technologies in Japan.
ISA/IEC 62443 and the CRA are becoming increasingly important topics for Japanese manufacturing companies in the process and factory automation sectors, especially for organizations exporting products to the EU market. In particular, the CRA will become fully applicable to products with digital elements in December 2027.
During the session, Sun Square shared practical perspectives on OT cybersecurity, standards-based implementation, and regulatory readiness for industrial product suppliers. The presentation highlighted the importance of translating regulatory and standards requirements into practical engineering processes with the CRA portion focusing on the manufacturer notification obligation due to September, 2026.
