TAIPEI, Taiwan – Aug. 31, 2026, by Sun Square Tech
TAIPEI, Taiwan – August 17, 2026 – Sun Square today announced that its Co-Founder and Chief Cybersecurity Advisor, SZ Lin, will speak at the Cybersecurity Forum at SEMICON West 2026, taking place October 13–15 at Moscone Center in San Francisco, California.
His 15-minute presentation, “From Compliance to Reality: Closing the Gap Between Cybersecurity Requirements and Equipment Behavior,” will examine the gap between demonstrating cybersecurity compliance in documentation and verifying how deployed equipment, components, interfaces, and configurations actually behave in operational environments.
As semiconductor manufacturers and equipment suppliers face increasing cybersecurity expectations from industry standards, customer requirements, and regulations such as the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), Lin will highlight several recurring implementation challenges:
- The Default Configuration Trap – Security capabilities are available, but insecure default configurations remain in deployment.
- Dormant Security – Security functions exist but are disabled, unused, or not operationally integrated.
- Risk Without Context – Vulnerabilities are assessed without sufficient consideration of actual exposure, system architecture, or operational impact.
- The Verification Blind Spot – Compliance evidence exists, but the security behavior of integrated and deployed equipment has not been sufficiently verified.
Rather than focusing on cybersecurity standards clause by clause, the presentation will examine how requirements translate into actual equipment behavior and where gaps can emerge during product development, configuration, system integration, deployment, and maintenance.
Lin will also introduce a practical approach connecting cybersecurity requirements, supplier evidence, configuration, integration testing, and operational verification, helping manufacturers move from compliance documentation toward demonstrable product and equipment security.
